A Note from the Founder, Marnie Pehrson Kuhns
Spirit Tree Publishing is a book publishing and marketing company created by an author for authors. I’ve been publishing books since 1994, both as a self-publisher and through other publishing companies. While people told me I should start my own publishing company for a decade, I hesitated to do so.
Frankly, I don’t want to be in the middle of your royalty payments. I know the frustration of waiting for piddly royalty checks from publishers. Also, I don’t like the idea of giving up my rights to a book as the author of that book. I’m sure you don’t either.
Let’s face it, books are not a huge money maker for the average author. So paying crazy prices to have a book published and marketed simply does not make good business sense.
That’s why I put off starting a publishing company for so many years. Finally, with the advent of Amazon’s KDP print and Kindle publishing, there’s a way for authors to be paid directly from Amazon without the need for a middle man publishing company. Yet, most authors do not know how to prep their book for publishing. They also don’t know how to market their books. They need help. It also looks more professional to be published by an imprint than to be self-published.
That’s where Spirit Tree Publishing and Marketing comes in. We are a done-for-you service that assists you with getting your book published and marketed in the most affordable way possible (other than doing it all yourself). We assist authors with writing, editing, publishing and advertising their books on Amazon and our network.
What Types of Books Do We Represent?
Specifically, we choose to represent books that inspire and illuminate. We look for insightful, innovative, and thought-provoking fiction or non-fiction. Specifically, we enjoy promoting books that bring a new perspective on traditional concepts or that bring a completely innovative, insightful take on subjects that matter in people’s lives.
We are a publishing and marketing service, not a traditional publishing house. You retain complete copyrights to your work and receive the income from your sales. We are a fee-based service, helping you get your books into print and Kindle formats and uploaded to Amazon, building a platform for your books and marketing and advertising them online.
Who Are We?
Marnie Pehrson Kuhns and her husband David G. Kuhns are the owners of Spirit Tree Publishing. Dave is a professional writer, editor, curriculum developer, marketer and poet who has written over 7,000+ poems and author of two books published under a pen name.
Marnie has written and published 30 titles, several of which have become Amazon Best Sellers. Approximately half of Marnie’s titles are historical fiction and the other half non-fiction inspirational or business. She has helped dozens of authors reach Amazon Bestseller status over the last 5 years.
